Lingua

Lingua

Publisher: Elsevier Science
ISSN: 0024-3841

Description:

The Journal is devoted to the problems of general linguistics. Its aim is to present work of current interest on a variety of subjects. Contributions are required to contain such general theoretical implications as to be of interest to any linguist, whatever his own specialisation. No particular linguistic theories or scientific trends are favoured: scientific quality and scholarly standing are the only criteria applied in the selection of papers accepted for publication. Besides papers, Lingua publishes review articles surveying developments in the various fields of linguistics, as well as occasional discussions. A considerable number of pages in each issue are devoted to critical book reviews. In addition, the Lingua Survey of Books section contains notices of new books relevant to theoretical linguistics, psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics, arranged systematically by topic. Selected abstracts from Lingua are available in Ampersand, the Elsevier Science linguistics newsletter.
