Seismic Instruments examines a wide diversity of geophysical instruments: seismometers, computerized digital seismic stations, ocean bottom and borehole seismic stations, automation of geophysical monitoring, strainmeters and tiltmeters, gravimeters, magnetometers, digital resistivity variometers and more. It encompasses all aspects of metrology, calibration and performance analysis of these instruments and different seismometric channels, signal detection and noise suppression. The journal provides a base for interaction among engineers and scientists working in geosciences, to facilitate exchange of information across the disciplines and among universities, research laboratories and industrial companies. Founded in 1961, Seismic Instruments is a journal of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
