Description:
This is a book review journal with a significant difference. Conversations publishes substantial reviews of the best writing in theology and religious studies, immediately followed by the authors reply. The goal is a high quality exchange that explores the major themes in theology and religious studies. Professors will find the exchanges illuminate their interpretation of certain writers; students will appreciate the excellent summaries and the identification of the key difficulties in a books arguments; and the general reader will have a sense of the most significant publications in Theology and Religious Studies. The first issue includes Heidi Hadsell in conversation with William Placher; Paul Knitter responds to a thoughtful critique by the Indian scholar K. P. Aleaz; and the Israeli sociologist of religion Stephen Shavot takes issue with Ian Markhams interpretation of his book.
