Eighteenth-Century Life addresses all aspects of European and world culture during the years 1660-1832. It includes both articles and substantial review essays. Many issues are illustrated, and some feature book-length collections on special themes, from the art of close reading in eighteenth-century English literature to the stories that arose from European exploration of the South Pacific. The South Pacific in the Eighteenth Century (Volume 18, #3) was awarded Best Special Issue by the Council of Editors of Learned Journals.
